Care Guide

To ensure the longevity and preservation of your frame and specimen, please follow the care instructions below:

  1. Display Conditions
  • Keep your frame out of direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure can cause colors to fade and the specimen to deteriorate.
  • Display your frame in a room with low humidity to prevent the growth of mould and other moisture-related damage.

   2. Mould Prevention & Treatment

  • If mould does develop, place the frame in a freezer for 3–5 days to kill the mould spores.
  • After freezing, carefully open the frame and use a fine, soft brush to gently remove any mould from the specimen.
  • Clean the glass and the interior of the frame thoroughly before resealing with cloth tape.

  3. Book Lice Treatment

  • Book lice are small, dust-like insects that may occasionally appear due to the organic nature of the specimens.

To eliminate them, freeze the frame for 3 days, allow it to return to room temperature for another 3 days, then repeat the freezing process to ensure any unhatched eggs are destroyed

   4. Frame Handling

  • Do not open the frame unless you are treating for mould.
  • If the cloth tape begins to peel, simply press it back into place to maintain the seal.

With proper care, all specimens are permanently preserved and can be enjoyed for many years.
