Diaphonised Snake Skeleton

Diaphonisation is a specialised preservation technique in which a specimen is carefully treated to make its soft tissues transparent while selectively staining the bones and cartilage. The result allows the intricate skeletal structure of the animal to remain visible through the surrounding tissue, creating the striking appearance these specimens are known for.

Each specimen is preserved in liquid and displayed within a sealed glass vessel, allowing its delicate anatomy to be appreciated from every angle. Due to the nature of the process and the individuality of each animal, no two specimens are exactly alike.

Our diaphonised specimens are sourced through our specialist supplier based in Vietnam, who prepares these pieces using dedicated preservation and staining techniques.
